I guess everybody have expectations of their own and no one would like to be disappointed especially after you have put in a significant amount of effort into it. Yet, disappointments are well always there, one is definite to meet with it, so dun take it so hard. Besides, everyone has their own pace when it comes to doing stuff, while it is true that we may learn something from others by observing how they manage their time and so on, one has to find that which is suitable for him/herself, there is as it says, no one sure-win formula.
Often, you may meet with events that put you down and when you think that situations cannot be any worse, reality deals you another blow that sends you spiralling and doubting, yet the more you spin the more confused you get and matters only becomes worse. It does not help. Of course, you may feel that I am saying this from an outsider's point of view (and I dun deny it) and when it happened to me, I will probably feel like hell too. But there is this quote that I always tell myself when I am down, and believe me when I said that happened quite often for a particular period of time, is this " If you can do something about it, there is nothing to worry, if you cannot do anything about it, worrying is fultile".
Dun misunderstand that this is a passive action telling you to just take it easy and just accept all problems and forget it. Rather, it means that instead of worrying and having negative thoughts in facing a problem, do everything you can to overcome it. And when you have done everything possible or when the task is really beyond you then worrying is also redundant since it does not solve matters.
I apologise for the long comment and crappy words...
